(Acts 23:12-35, Acts Chapter 24)

Acts 23:12 The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.

Paul Transferred to Caesarea

The commander has assigned four hundred and seventy men to protect Paul.  It might seem at first that the commander considers Paul to be very important.  More likely, the commander is not wanting to have to E_______ to Rome why he allowed a Roman citizen to be E_______________ by Jews.

Paul’s Trial Before Felix

Throughout his journeys, Paul endured F________ allegations about his ministry.  The ironic part is that the accusers were religious leaders who claimed that they were the ones fighting for R_______________ the law, the very same law that states “Thou shalt not bear false witness.”

Felix orders that Paul be kept in custody but also R_______________ that Paul is a Roman citizen who has N______ Y______ been found guilty of any crimes, gives him some latitude, somewhat akin to a modern-day house arrest.

Take Away Lesson: All Christian life is a trial filled with defining moments and how we choose to respond, moments on which we will either stand or fall by the wayside.  Choose wisely!

Acts 24:20-21 Or these who are here should state what crime they found in me when I stood before the Sanhedrin— unless it was this one thing I shouted as I stood in their presence: ‘It is concerning the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you today.’”
