At Welcome Home Christian Church, we love kids and are passionate about helping them grow
in faith!
Kingdom Kids is our flagship midweek program—a fun-filled Bible Adventure every Wednesday from 6:20–7:40 pm. Through interactive Bible lessons, reenactments, games, songs, crafts, and snacks, kids dive deep into God’s Word. Our program emphasizes Bible memorization and Christian service, where students earn rewards by reciting verses, bringing their Bible, inviting friends, giving offerings, participating in class, and showing kindness. Filled punch cards can be exchanged for fun prizes! Designed for Kindergarten–5th grade, we also offer an age-appropriate class for preschoolers and toddlers.
Kids Church takes place on Sunday mornings during the preaching sermon. We encourage families to worship together during Communion, music, and offering before kids are dismissed for their own engaging Bible lesson, videos, activity sheets, and games.
Beyond weekly gatherings, we host exciting events year-round, including Easter Egg Parties,
Fall Festivals, Nerf & Nachos Parties, Praying Pirate Parties, Park Days, PJ’s & Pop-Tarts, and
our Five-Day Summer VBS!
Lisa Carter is a native of Eastern Ky, where she graduated from a Christian School at her church in Turkey Creek, Ky, and then attended a Bible College in Nashville, TN. From the time she was 17 years old, she began volunteering and teaching the children’s classes on Wednesday nights at her local church. Her love of sharing the Gospel with precious little ones has continued throughout her adult life as she and her high school sweetheart, David, married and have lived in Columbus, Ohio, then later Williamsburg, VA, locations where Lisa continued to teach Sunday School Classes and VBS when needed. The Carters finally relocated to Lake County, Florida, in 1994, where Dave & Lisa have raised two sons of their own, homeschooling them for six years. Lisa continued to teach Sunday School and Children’s Church at Shady Brook Free Will Baptist Church in Coleman, FL, and later served at Mid-Lakes Christian Church (which became Adventure Christian Church) as a mid-week pre-school teacher and VBS volunteer. Both Dave & Lisa were chosen to serve as Youth Leaders for the Middle & High School Youth and Lisa supported Dave while he served as a Deacon at Adventure CC. Lisa also was an employee at Adventure Christian Academy where she taught Creative Writing, Science Lab, Life Skills and Health & PE at the Middle School. Dave & Lisa are founding members of Welcome Home Christian Church and Lisa is honored to continue serving the children here that she loves so much.
